Mont Blanc -
Both Frankenstein and the Monster meet in the snowy mountains of Mont Blanc, they both go there to initially be alone. I think that Shelley used this cold and desolate scenary because it reflects the way the characters are feeling; Victor feels guilty and alone after loosing so many family members and friends and the Monster feels alone because he is rejected by humanity simply because of his appearance. This shows that although Frankenstein and the Monster are clearly different in appearance, on the inside they are quite the same.
